When people make any accusations like these, it’s important to know if the information is accurate. Now, I don’t agree with everything the government does, but I believe their use of technology and surveillance, to a certain extent, can be very useful.
I think surveillance is ok, but spying isn’t. Like holding back potentially dangerous events is becoming easier thanks to smart security cameras and sensors. Surveillance could involve consent and this depends on a number of factors. It is a common dynamic security measure and largely has legal authority. Spying on the other hand is often due without authorization. Exposure of most spying activities often result in negative legal consequences.
I can’t speak on too much Snowden said because I don’t really know how credible he is.
