To me a dystopia can be simply defined as an unimagined place where the people in that society are treated in an unjust or inhumane way by their government. For example the book that we discussed in class this semester, The Girl in the Brown Ring, the government basically left the people of a certain community to fend for themselves with no help from the government. Also the five faces of oppression stuck out to me and really helped me to understand the tru meaning of dystopia, specifically exploitation, people are constantly being exploited by their peers as well as the government especially people of certain ethnic groups. Overall at the beginning of class I didn’t think they dystopias could possibly be real, but all of that has definitely changed over time, I feel like their have been certain events and situations that have displayed true dystopias in history
