The coronavirus has taken the world by storm. It has caused so much havoc nationwide. It has caused our government to issue stay-at-home orders in order to help slow down the spread of the virus.James Gershman in The Wall Street Journal stated, “Most U.S. states have imposed lockdown measures restricting gathering and social contact, disrupting the lives of hundreds of millions of people and the operations of thousands of businesses.” The lockdowns can be described as a dystopian aspect of the world today. We define a dystopia as an imaginary or real place whose people may lead a restricted and oppressive existence under some form of authority. The government is the form of authority that is leading us into a restricted existence. They are closing businesses and schools. This is forcing Americans to remain inside due to fear of catching the coronavirus.
