When writer Kim Stanley Robinson states, “It’s crucial to keep imagining that things could get better, and furthermore to imagine how they might get better,” it makes me ponder on the unsure chance that a utopia can exist. Throughout several articles this semester, I have come to see the pattern that a utopia can only exist in theory. I don’t want to come pessimistic, but the human condition seems to be that we can only hope for it. The side that I hope for, and I believe is the brighter side, is that we can always perfect our efforts to achieve the best utopia that can ever exist. I personally believe that utopian thinking is the key to gradually overcoming dystopia.
