As of this week, the only thing my podcast team and I have completed is the written draft of our script. Although we have been considering the rules of copyright and ideals of fair use while researching and writing our draft, it is very important for us to continue adhering to these rules when we produce our actual podcast. For instance, we are planning on adding music clips in our episode. Therefore, being aware and having an understanding of creative commons licenses allow us to use audio clips while correctly giving credit to the creator. In order for our podcast to be protected by the Fair Use Act, we must make sure that our script and production remain noncommercial and educational. Providing show notes that include a work cited and credit section will essentially contribute to the avoidance of copyright infringement as well.
