Climate change, if caused by the actions of humans, can be considered a form of oppression because it disproportionately affects certain communities and individuals who are often marginalized and vulnerable, such as those living in poverty, indigenous communities, and people of color. These groups may have fewer resources to adapt to the impacts of climate change, such as extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and food and water shortages. In addition, the actions that contribute to climate change, such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial agriculture, have been driven by economic and political systems prioritizing profit and power over the well-being of people and the planet. Therefore, yes, I believe climate change is a kind of oppression caused by humans.
