Is the Grass really Greener on the Other Side?

No, I’m afraid I have to disagree with Kim Stanley Robinson. Imagining that things could get better is not the key to overcoming dystopia. I say this because, in most dystopian situations, you guess how things might get better when they do not. So you are putting a false narrative or false hope. Yes, you should believe that the grass is greener on the other side but is that enough? What could help overcome a dystopian society is having your vision that things would get better and spreading your ideas to others; therefore, creating a group of people with the same beliefs as you is key to utopian thinking and overcoming dystopian societies.
