One of the faces of oppression that Iris Young discusses is Exploitation, and one way I see America use this form of oppression is through media propaganda. From personal experience, I see that whoever holds the most influence or who can influence the most is the one/group that can control what type of messages are sent out.
The second type of oppression that Young talks about is Cultural Imperialiam. This related to the previous form of oppression in the way that it props up one type of culture while simultaneously demonizing any other. It is either one way is the correct way of dong things and if you do not think or move similarly, then you are not only wrong but also the enemy.
