I do believe that there are traces of ur-fascism today. I also believe that it is so ingrained in our lives, it may be hard for us to identify. It is normalized and accepted too commonly. As stated in the reading, there only has to be one characteristic present. I believe that there is a lot of rejecting modernism in society. Specifically, in Donald Trump’s presidency, he had a very postmodernist approach to things. Also, a machismo approach. Many people in America supported this man which shows that many people think like him. They feared difference by building walls and having negative connotations towards foreigners. He basically wanted to return to the time when patriarchy was heavily practiced, homosexuality wasn’t accepted, and African Americans had little rights. His entire slogan was “Make America Great Again”. What does he mean by that?
